Do you support SegWit Addresses for Balance Custody?

Do you support SegWit Addresses for Balance Custody?

Currently, our wallet addresses use the legacy format for funding addresses. However, you are able to receive from SegWit addresses on both Bitcoin and Litecoin networks due to the backward compatibility of SegWit. Additionally, Balance Custody supports sending to external accounts using all Bitcoin SegWit address formats and the most common Litecoin SegWit-P2SH format.

Bitcoin (BTC) SegWit:
The Custody platform supports sending to:
  1. SegWit-P2SH addresses (those that start with 3...);

  2. SegWit-P2WPKH, aka native SegWit, 42 character long Bech32 addresses (those that start with bc1...);

  3. SegWit-P2WSH, 62 character long Bech32 addresses (those that start with bc1...).

Litecoin (LTC) SegWit:
The Custody platform supports sending to:

  1. SegWit-P2SH LTC addresses (those that start with M... or L...)
  2. SegWit-Bech32, aka native SegWit LTC addresses (those that start with ltc...)

The Custody platform DOES NOT support sending to:

  1. Deprecated SegWit-P2SH LTC addresses (those that start with 3...)
